Peter Hernandez, known as Bruno Mars, was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii in a musically influenced household. He moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school to start his career as a recording artist. Mars eventually gained worldwide attention in 2010 after the release of his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans.

In 2012, Bruno Mars became known worldwide after the release of his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans that featured the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles like “Grenade" and "Just the Way You Are."
Unorthodox Jukebox was his second album that released in 2012 with singles “When I Was Your Man” and “Locked Out of Heaven” and became number one in the United States. Mars released his third album in 2016, 24K Magic, in which his single with the same name reached number four in the United States. However, reached number one in France, Belgium, and New Zealand.
Bruno Mars’s Musical Influences
Bruno Mars spent time impersonating Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Little Richard, all of which are his major inspirations. His musical style was initially more influenced by R&B because of artists like R. Kelly. Hip-hop artists like Jay-Z and The Roots influenced him as well making his music a mixture of rock, hip-hop, and soul.
